How To Get Platinum Blonde Hair.

Hey All,

Im always dying my hair and decided to take the plunge and go from Permanent black hair to Platinum White.
Its a Long and damaging process so you have been warned.
BUT if done right, the amount of damage can be minimized.
I have gone from black to blonde before but went the wrong way about it which DESTROYED my hair.
So a year later, when i wanted to do it again, i knew exactly how to do it right this time.

For Starters you will need: ALL these items can be found in a pharmacy.

Hair Stripper (any brand, Lorel have a good one)
Camomile hair mask, ( any hair mask for blondes)
Bleach: (2 Boxes)
Damage and repair Shampoo & Conditioner (Pantene, herbal essences)
A purple shampoo & Conditioner (John Frieda do a brilliant one)
Deep Nourishing hair treatment
Heat Defence spray.

STEP 1:
Apply the hair stripper, WARNING your hair WILL be a brassy Orange, ginger colour, and if you have roots then they will turn a pale blonde and the rest will be a brown & ginger colour.
- Use the damage and repair shampoo,
Wait a week before bleaching, and AVOID using hairdryers and straighteners.

Step 2:
Bleach your hair. After your hair should be a lighter brown colour AVOID putting it on the roots as they will only get lighter, opposed to the rest of your hair.
-again use the damage and repair shampoo.
Wait 2 WEEKS before bleaching again.
Use a buttermilk hair mask of deep treatment hair mask.

Step 3:
Bleach hair again BUT do NOT apply the bleach to your roots.
your hair should now be a yellow/ginger,orange colour.
Use another deep treatment or deep conditioning mask.

NOTE: EVERY time you wash your hair, leave the conditioner in for a half an hour before rinsing.
This will help put moisture back in the hair.

REMEMBER: your hair is now VERY DRY and needs moisture. LOTS OF IT.
Use a comb on your hair NOT a brush. When your comb/wash your hair, you will notice ALOT of hair falling out - this happens when your bleach and weaken your hair.

You SHOULD NOT need to bleach your hair after stripping it and bleaching Twice.
Your hair WILL NOT be able to take it.

Now, all your need to do is nourish and condition your hair.
you can also put olive oil in your hair for a few hours.
DO NOT OVER WASH your hair every day. wash your hair every second day, as your hair needs its natural hair oils to fix the hair.

Next step is an ASH TONER. these can be got at a beauty suppliers but can be pretty tough to get without having a trade card.

But it is possible to do it without one.
the top part of your hair should be a yellow colour and the rest a ginger, if needs be you can bleach JUST the Ginger bits NOT the yellow.
Your hair should  now be yellow/brassy.

USE the PURPLE SHAMPOO/Lavender shampoo.
Purple is opposite yellow on the colour wheel, this means its counter acts the other.
using a purple shampoo on yellowy/brassy hair will take the orange tones out of your hair.
when you wash your hair with it, leave the shampoo in for 10 - 20 minutes, But not too long or else the lighter shades of blonde will get a purple tint. but these will fade after a few days.

REMEMBER:
PALE BLONDE/WHITE HAIR ALWAYS WANTS TO GO BACK TO YELLOW.
so you will need to continue using a purple shampoo as long as you have
pale blonde/blonde/white hair.

If you have gotten your hair to a pale yellow, go to a pharmacy (or order online) a bottle of 2% Gentian Violet. This is an antiseptic for burns, thrush on babies.
Pour a 500ml bottle of shampoo into a bowl place 2 drops of the gentian violet in, and stir well, then place back in the bottle. This will help keep white hair white when you wash it.

Place 2 drops of Gentian Violet into a basin of water, place your hair in it for 30 SECONDS!! no more or your hair will turn purple, but will fade to silver.
you should see the yellow gone from your hair and you should now have silver/platinum hair!

CONTINUE to use hair masks, deep conditioning treatments.

Hope this helps!

xoxo
